Our Foundation

Sturdivant & Co., as well as its professionals, believes in helping make our communities a better place to live by providing positive measurable change through donations, sponsorships, and volunteering to organizations that are making a difference.

In 1988, Ralph A. Sturdivant, Sr. co-founded Sturdivant & Co., Inc., where he served as Chairman and CEO until his untimely death in 1995. Ralph was a mentor to young finance students and often offered them employment with the firm. For those who knew him, the real meaning of his life did not lie in his success, but in his commitment to friendship, his unwavering mentorship and his entrepreneurial spirit.

The “Ralph A. Sturdivant Sr. Foundation” was created in 2008 as a way to support community outreach, mentorship and scholarship programs. In today’s environment, we are not only judged by our merits as corporate leaders, we are judged by the value we create in our communities and our means to address social issues.

The RASS Foundation created an academic finance scholarship, in Ralph’s name, at Morgan State University. The scholarship is awarded annually to a minority disadvantaged undergrad student in their pursuit of higher education.

The RASS Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) entity. The organization got its original roots by hosting financial literacy programs and community outreach throughout our Mid-Atlantic region.  Our organization is focused on giving, contributing, and helping those who cannot help themselves. The Foundation continues to deepen its imprint in the community by fulfilling its mission of serving the homeless, substance and domestic abuse prevention and providing quality education for disadvantaged students. It is our hope to lead by example by giving back to the communities we live in.
